Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Ninjademy collects, how we use it, and the controls parents have over their family's data.
Information We Collect
We collect: the account holder's email address; a child's birth month and year (used to determine age-appropriate content); gameplay and performance data used to adapt question difficulty; and notification preferences such as opting in to a daily practice reminder.
Children's Privacy
Ninjademy is directed at children, and child accounts are created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian through our consent process — a child does not sign up independently. Parents can, at any time from the parent dashboard: pause a child's account, opt a child out of public leaderboards and the Hall of Fame, disable AI Hints, reset a child's subject progress or session history, or delete the account entirely. We do not use children's data for advertising or direct marketing to children.
How We Use Data
We use collected data to operate the Service, adapt difficulty to each learner, show progress to parents, and — if opted in — send a daily practice reminder.
Data Storage
Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), with row-level security policies restricting access to each family's own data.
Third-Party Services
We use Paddle.com Market Limited to process payments (Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and handles billing data directly). We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand page usage and site performance (page views and Core Web Vitals such as load time) — these do not receive child-identifying gameplay data. When a child requests an AI Hint, the question text and answer choices — not the child's name, account, or any other identifying information — are sent to Anthropic (maker of Claude) to generate the hint. Parents can disable AI Hints at any time from the parent dashboard.
Parental Rights and Controls
Parents can access, correct, or delete their family's data at any time through account settings, or by contacting us directly.
Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as the account is active. When an account is deleted, associated data is removed from our systems.
